Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool passes to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page causes the servers to receive basic technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help show traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing a submitted query to the applicable search provider
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It explains how to reach the Gwinnett County Sheriff, the Clerk of Superior, State and Magistrate Courts, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information entered there. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Georgia agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be available in limited form to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect information collected by the site. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights may also arise under applicable Georgia law, including the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. §§10-1-390 through 10-1-407. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§50-18-70 through 50-18-77, applies to government records rather than this private site's visitor data, while O.C.G.A. §35-3-35 governs dissemination of Georgia criminal-history information. Subject to the law and the data actually retained, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
